Animals can play a
large role in our dreams. They can describe
certain traits or qualities a certain character or individual has that
we require or should avoid. They also tell us about
different aspects of ourselves. Aspects that we may not want to
consciously look at or examine.
Every animal has a different universal characteristic,
trait and/or quality that they symbolize to our subconscious
mind. So, our subconscious minds put these animals in our
dreams at certain points to sybolize these qualities.
For example, if an old man in
your dream is being constantly followed by a pig, you would
then ask ,"Is he pleased the pig is following? Is he annoyed?
Is he trying to loose the pig:" and so on. You see, the pig
sybolizes prosperity. If the pig is following the man and he
is pleased then it indicates that prosperity follows this character and his success pleases him.
Eventhough there is the negative trait of greet involved in the
pigs actions, he does have the intelligence to turn that driving force
of greed onto prosperity and success.
If the pig is following him but he is annoyed at it, then
maybe this character feels he/she is not worthy or deserving
of this success.
Then, ofcourse, the next step in the interpretation is to
look deeper at the old man. Who or what does he represent? Is
he a facet of you that you are ignoring or chose not to
acknowledge? Is he a partner of work friend you are having
conflicts with etc.
