For most of us, as children, we love to be chased because we love the game and also like to be caught.
Unfortunately, in most dreams, this is not the case. More often than not, the dreamer (you) is frantically running from something or someone they do not want to face. So, the question is - in your dream, are you running from an aspect of yourself you can not bear to face up to or acknowledge?
Is it something you feel you are becoming but are trying not to? Or is it something you were in the past that you are trying so hard now not to be? If you simply can not identify who or what is chasing you than ask yourself - what or who is it that you are afraid of at this point in your life?
What do you feel will happen to you if your pursuer catches you? Do you feel strong or fast enough in the dream to be able to keep the pursuer at bay or do you feel that it is in evitable that you will be caught? What do you feel the outcome would be if you made a stand, stood your ground, stopped running and faced the chaser?
How do you React to being chased?
How you react to being chased is every bit as important as how you feel about being chased. Do you run terrified and in a panic? Is it a controlled run? Are you cool, calm and collected?
Do you stop and confront the pursuer, eager to face the threat or issue? Or do you continue to run, feeling confident that you can outrun the chaser?
Let's face it, the primary objective of running from a pursuer is to escape... So, ask yourself, who or what is it that you are wanting or trying to escape from in your life?
The figure or person you are being chased by in
your dream can also
represent an aspect of yourself. Anger, jealousy,
fear, love, and insecurities can all manifest in
your mind as something to fear, avoid and run from. You
may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown
chaser. |

Who is pursuing you?
If you
are being chased by an animal or a zombie or monster and
not a specific person then you must look at the
characteristic of the pursuer.
For example, if you are being chased but a pig, you
might have a fear of success or, more to the point, a
fear of failure which stops you from succeeding. If you
have a fear of failing them any opportunity with a
change of failure, no matter how slim, will cause you
fear.
So, find the characteristics or qualities of whatever
it is that is chasing you to get an insight into your
fear.
In dreams about running,
Confront your
pursuer
One may
be consumed by their own anger, jealousy, love, or
self-destructive behavior. For example, you may be
drinking too much or exhibiting open hostility toward
others around you. You may subconsciously be threatened
by these actions which have been jeopardizing your
relationships and/or career.
Your dreams are a way of
calling attention to these self-destructive
actions. A more direct analysis of chase dreams
is the fear of being attacked. Such dreams are more
common among women than men, who may feel physically
vulnerable in the urban environment. Dreams of being
chased are inspired by fears of violence and sexual
assault in which we are so over-exposed from the media.
Confronting your attacker in a Chase
Dream
Next
time you have a chase dream, turn around and confront
your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you. Learn
to face your fears and insecurities and not be chased by
them. Be strong in the chase dream and confront the one
you are being chased by so they don't end up controlling
you.
The best place to start facing and dealing
with these problems is in the chase dream. This is one of the main reasons your subconscious
mind is giving you this chase dream. It doesn't want to
scare you or haunt you.It is trying to give you the
opportunity to face and resolve the things that are
having a negative impact on your live and state of mind.
I hope this page on the chase dream has helped you
unlock the meanings to your chase dreams. Keep dreaming
and stay happy.
