The Meaning of being chased in your dreams

- not facing up to something
- avoiding capture
For most of us, as children, we love to be chased because we love the game and also like to be caught.
Unfortunately, in most dreams, this is not the case. More often than not, the dreamer (you) is frantically running from something or someone they do not want to face.
So, the question is - in your dream, are you running from an aspect of yourself you can not bear to face up to or acknowledge?
Is it something you feel you are becoming but are trying not to? Or is it something you were in the past that you are trying so hard now not to be?
If you simply can not identify who or what is chasing you than ask yourself - what or who is it that you are afraid of at this point in your life?
What do you feel will happen to you if your pursuer catches you? Do you feel strong or fast enough in the dream to be able to keep the pursuer at bay or do you feel that it is in evitable that you will be caught?
What do you feel the outcome would be if you made a stand, stood your ground, stopped running and faced the chaser?
How do you React to being chased?
How you react to being chased is every bit as important as how you feel about being chased. Do you run terrified and in a panic? Is it a controlled run? Are you cool, calm and collected?
Do you stop and confront the pursuer, eager to face the threat or issue? Or do you continue to run, feeling confident that you can outrun the chaser?
Let's face it, the primary objective of running from a pursuer is to escape... So, ask yourself, who or what is it that you are wanting or trying to escape from in your life?
The figure or person you are being chased by in
your dream can also
represent an aspect of yourself. Anger, jealousy,
fear, love, and insecurities can all manifest in
your mind as something to fear, avoid and run from. You
may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown
chaser.
